Photo info/credit: The Portage Canal Lift Bridge between Houghton and Hancock in the Keweenaw Peninsula. This bridge offered auto/truck traffic on the upper portion of the bridge and rail traffic on the lower section. Today, the lower section is used for snowmobiles as all railroads are gone. 2004.
