Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum Location: Dearborn, Michigan
Description: Greenfield Village was created by Henry Ford in the 1930's. He made a historical village by in bringing homes of famous people, farm buildings and businesses from early American towns. The Village has an authentic steam railroad which encircles the property. The Village also contains a 1800's roundhouse, depot and turntable. Henry Ford Museum is located next to Greenfield Village. It houses one of the world's finest old car collections and many other historical collections. From a railroad history perspective, the Museum houses many old steam engines and railroad passenger and freight cars. |
