In an article in their March 26th edition, Crains Detroit Business reports that the CN Railway has asked the Surface Transportation Board (STB) to revoke a federal railroad designation for the Riverview Trenton Railroad Co. CN claims that the railroad improperely applied for an exemption. Crains quotes CN who says "The RTR property cannot be said to be a part orf any operating railroad's facilities, and RTR has nowhere established that common-carrier operations have ever been conducted on the property". CN said that the rail lines are on private property and not subject to federeal protection. RTR owner Centra had no comment. |
