The Central Michigan Railroad comprises of former New York Central and Grand Trunk Western Railroad trackage in the central area of Michigan.  CM receives much of its rail traffic at Durand from CN.  This freight moves in trains north on former GTW lines to Saginaw, and then across the Saginaw River swing bridge and north on former NYC trackage to Wenona Yard on the north side of Bay City.  CM provides local industry switching in Saginaw and Bay City, and also serves Dow Chemical in Midland.  Operations Summary.

The CM is owned by the Straits Corporation which was formally affiliated with the Detroit and Mackinac Railway.
