Conrail Shared Asset Area

The Conrail Shared Assets (CSA) organization was created after Conrail was purchased and carved up by the Norfolk Southern Railroad and CSX Transportation.  Three areas were retained in the Conrail Shared Assets area - two areas in New Jersey and one area in Michigan.   

Today, CSA is owned by NS and CSXT.  Power is provided by both organizations and both railroads have trackage rights over CSA track and yards.
