Formerly the
Pittsburg & Lake
Angeline Mine. This mine started in 1864. In 1888,
the mine shipped an average of 60 ore cars a day. In 1892 the
mine started a three-month trial of an 8 hour day which was formally
adopted at the end of the year. Over the years the mine was owned by
the Cleveland Cliff's Iron Company. [EHMT]
