In 1978, the Chessie System ran a series of steam powered passenger specials throughout their network.  These specials ran about a half dozen times in Michigan.  This is the Steam Special heading west on the Plymouth Subdivision, taken at the 10-Mile Road crossing in South Lyon.  The photo also shows the GTW Jackson Branch interlocked crossing.
