 Conrail WDGR NB on the Kalamazoo Secondary - 1995

 

 

 

Conrail train WDGR northbound on the Kalamazoo Secondary at Mosel Yard lead, March, 1995.  This local ran out of Grand Rapids and has just picked up cars from Botsford Yard to go back north.  Most likely these cars are for Menasha in Otsego.  This section

 

of the old GR&I through Kalamazoo had several miles of what was, in effect, double track.  There were a pair of crossovers just south of Mosel Avenue for getting into Kalamazoo Yard (called Mosel Yard under Conrail).  This lead off the main was originally one of the crossovers.  Note the semaphore (showing "approach") down the track.  [Ben Higdon photo and information]
