The Michigan Central railroad tunnel portal in Detroit.

A 1910 postcard view of the Detroit portal of the Michigan Central Detroit-Windsor railroad tunnel.  The tunnel originally opened in July, 1910 and trains arriving from Canada had to backed up, around the tunnel, to discharge passengers at the 3rd Street Passenger station along the riverfront.  In December, 1913, the "new" Michigan Central depot opened and the back up move was eliminated.
