Grand Trunk Western Train No. 19,
steams west past the depot and water tank at Lowell, Michigan east
of Grand Rapids, in 1937. Train No. 19 is a Detroit to Grand
Rapids local train. Note the "candy cane" striping on the road
crossing signals.
The pole on
top of the water tower is probably a gauge indicating the amount of
water in the tank (almost full).
