A Milwaukee Road Passenger train begins to cross the Lift Bridge over the Portage canal between Houghton and Hancock.  The Milwaukee Road provided through train service between Chicago and Calumet (via their line to Champion and the DSS&A beyond to Calumet).  This train is probably the Copper Country Limited.
