Michigan Central's Jackson Depot in the 1930's

Michigan Central's Jackson Depot in the mid-1930's.  The short train on the siding appears to be No. 44 which has arrived from Grand Rapids.  The train on the eastbound main is probably No. 108 which is headed west towards Chicago.  The tracks on the left are the freight main and the beginning of the original Jackson yard.  The signal tower in the distance is at the Pearl Street interlocking, which controlled the branches north to Grand Rapids and Saginaw, the main line crossovers, and the west entrance to Jackson Yard.  [Doug Leffler collection]
