An NYC passenger train on the Old Road in the 1950's

A 1950's winter photo of a New York Central passenger train on the Old Road, somewhere around Hillsdale, Michigan.  The train on this day includes three cars, a baggage car, a RPO, and a combination car on the rear.   Passenger trains on the Old Road were restricted to 60 m.p.h.  After World War II, the Old Road was down to 2 passenger trains in each direction.  By 1959 the line was freight only.   [Victor Baird Collection].
