Penn Central 2626 heads a coal train through Durand

Penn Central 2626, a GE U25B, leads a Dow unit coal train on the Ann Arbor Railroad northbound through Durand.  The train is headed for the Dow plant in Midland.  The PC used its AA line when the Bay City Branch fell into disrepair and could not handle the weight of these trains.  October 3, 1971.  The Ann Arbor main line on the east side of the Durand Depot is no longer in place.  TSBY trains now use the former GTW line on the right.  [Charlie Whipp]
