Manistee &
Northeastern locomotive 325, attached to a combine passenger-baggage
car, is photographed in Manistee. This locomotive was an ALCO
2-8-0 product, which the M&NE reportedly purchased from the Pere
Marquette in 1933. The locomotive was retired in 1948.
The M&NE provided freight and passenger service between Manistee and
the Leelenau Peninsula. The line also reached Grayling for a
period of time. [Mark Andersen Collection]
