New automobiles, covered in tarps, stop in Jackson.

Automobiles - covered with tarps - 3 to a flat car, sit at Jackson Jct., on the west side of the main Michigan Central yard in 1914.  These cars could have been manufactured in Jackson, as the city hosted auto plants that made the "Jackson", the "Brisco" and the "Earl" in 1914.  Another suggestion is that the autos may have come from the Chicago area, as it appears that they have arrived on the Air Line Branch from Niles/South Bend.    [Charles Milliken, Doug Leffler Collection]
