Shortly after Amtrak took over passenger operations from the
railroads, they operated Turboliner Trains on the water-level
route. Pictures at the left are two photos. The
first is Amtrak 58 at the Michigan Central depot in Detroit in
the mid-1970's. [Paul Chapoton] The second photo is
of Amtrak 65 at the Jackson passenger depot. Next to the
passenger train is a Penn Central F-Unit pulling a freight
westbound on the freight main out of the yard. [Doug
