Cheboygan

On Court Street, just E of Benton Street.

The D&M freight house, in a box car without wheel sets, set on the ground.  The former depot was nearby, now gone.

Vision... the freight agent here made up bills for box cars full of diapers which were shipped from the P&G plant.

Cheboygan River

West of M-33 highway, south of M-27.

The old Detroit & Mackinac bridge over the Cheboygan River.  Now used as a trail over the river..

Vision... watching the southbound D&M leave town.  Next stops... Tower and Onaway.

Indian River

South of M-68, west of the I-75 expressway.

The old Michigan Central passenger depot still exists but the railroad is now gone.

Vision... sitting on a warm afternoon watching the nearby fountain.

Mackinaw City

In Mackinaw Crossing Mail, west of S. Huron Avenue

The old Michigan Central/Grand Rapids & Indiana Union Station.  It is now a restaurant in the mall with many rail photos on the walls inside.

Vision... loading up frozen deer carcasses into rail cars for the trip south with returning hunters.

Vision... as the station agent, going for a dip in the lake between trains.
