A 1949 overhead view of the Wabash Roundhouse at Delray.  The three sets of tracks from right to left (at the left of the roundhouse) are the New York Central main line (former MC), the former LS&MS main line (an industrial track in 1949), and the DTSL/Wabash line to West Detroit.  The line below the roundhouse is the Union Belt of Detroit.  The highway at the bottom of the photograph is Dearborn Avenue. Note how close the roundhouse came to the NYC right-of-way.  The roundhouse is gone and the land now supports the I-75 overpass.  [Detroit Edison aerial photographs, Wayne State University collection]
