A summer 2002 photograph of the old Duluth, South Shore & Atlantic grade and trestle just outside of Munising Junction.  The trestle is crossing the Lake Superior & Ishpeming.  The line was pulled up about 1 year ago.   [Dave Fulkerth photo]

The photo to the right is another shot of the overpass from the former LS&I main line.  This route, which is still in place and used by the CN/WC, was a part of LS&I's eastern Main Line.  After LS&I ceased operation between this location and Marquette, they operated this as a severed branch line to service the Kimberly Clark plant in Munising.  They kept an Alco RS-3 locomotive on the branch and interchanged with the Soo Line at Munising Jct.  A very small yard was located on the LS&I just south of this bridge and a wye track connected the yard with the Soo Line main.  [Jim Fulkerth photo].
