When the Detroit & Charlevoix Railroad entered
Alba around 1901, it
crossed the GR&I at the interlocker depicted on the left, which is based
on a drawing in the interlocker files of the State of Michigan Archives.
This interlocking was probably pulled out around 1932, after the D&C was
approved for abandonment by the Interstate Commerce Commission on August
26th.
According to eye-witnesses, the foundation for the tower and depot
still exist as of 2002, as well as the support blocks for the interlocking
rods. |
