A postcard view of two Bay City depots.  The top depot is the Michigan Central depot in East Bay City.  The depot at the bottom is the Pere Marquette Union depot, which was shared by the PM and the Detroit & Mackinac Railway.  The City had at least three other depots:  The Detroit, Bay City & Western depot was near the pictured MCRR depot.  There was also a MCRR depot in West Bay City as well as a Grand Trunk Western depot.  East and West Bay City were eventually merged.  Below, a photograph of a Pere Marquette 2-8-0 locomotive at Bay City taken in 1938.  [Dan Meinhard Collection]

  • [COHS-7/1994] reports that the Trumbull Street crossing of the C&O and NYC (MC) was protected by a poll mounted target signal.  Horizontal position means clear for the C&O.  The target was removed by 1969.
  • [COHS-7/1994] reports that the C&O/D&M/NYC crossing at Foss Junction was also protected by a mast target.  Diagonal for the C&O.
