November 12, 2006.  Comments by Graydon Meints:   As to Marshall, I remember hearing somewhere that the second floor of an early depot also housed hotel rooms, but I have no citation for this.  I don't think that there were any operating offices at Marshall, except for the shops.  My research tells me that it was not until the 1870s that a division management structure came into use on the MC, as I described earlier.  [GM]
