This is a recent (2003)
photo of the former Detroit & Mackinac Railway freight "house" at
Cheboygan. The building is a former troop car and it has
recently been repainted. It served as an office for the D&M
freight agent, and was particularly busy before the D&M bought the
MCRR line up the center of the state. Prior to that purchase,
the D&M ended at Cheboygan, where the road served the paper plant.
