Three photographs of the Lake Odessa depot on the Pere Marquette main line between Lansing and Grand Rapids.  This was a grand depot, given the size of the town.  The depot was built and opened on May 24, 1884.  It no longer exists today.  Above, a late 1800's photo of the depot with a lone passenger waiting on the platform.  [Alan Loftis Collection].  Below, An older shot of the depot in better times with a passenger train loading. [Charlie Whipp collection]  Below, second photo, is a similar shot from the opposite direction.  [Alan Loftis Collection]

Above, the aging process and lack of maintenance have taken its toll on the majestic Pere Marquette depot at Lake Odessa, when it was photographed in May, 1984 by Charlie Whipp.  Below, a modern photo of the restored depot, moved to a new location.  [Alan Loftis]
