This is East Jackson, the dispatcher controlled entrance to the Jackson Yard, as well as the beginning of the double track main line through the City of Jackson.  East Jackson was known as East Yard by the Michigan Central and New York Central in earlier days, and the location had a telegraph operator in a shanty who controlled trains entering and leaving the Jackson Terminal.  [Dale Berry 2003 photo.]
