Jackson was the northern terminus of the Big Four Cincinnati Northern branch.  The Big Four used the Michigan Central/NYC facilities in Jackson, north and east of OD Tower.  CN locomotives were serviced at the MC roundhouse and passengers were handled in the MC passenger station.  Freight trains were delivered to the freight yards in jackson and southbound trains were made up by MC/NYC employees.  Later, all became New York Central employees but from different divisions.

Jackson has a fifty-foot scale capable of weighing up to 150 tons.  There were water tanks at both the depot and in the freight yard.  The roundhouses had a total of 40 stalls.  [HCN]
