A Chesapeake & Ohio switch engine takes scrap steel across the diamond at Fuller in 1981.  At the time of this photo, Fuller was the crossing of the north-south C&O, north-south Conrail, and the east-west Grand Trunk Western.  Fuller is interlocked today, but was controlled by a gate during most of its history.  The operator at Fuller controlled much of the former Grand Rapids & Indiana north to Mackinaw City through the use of remotely controlled block station.  1981 photo. Above, an early 1970's photograph of Fuller crossing, showing the crossing gates with reflector and red lamps, train order signals, and the operator's shanty.  Below, GTW 4931 (a GP-9) heads east on the Grand Trunk, crossing the Fuller diamond.  [Greg Bunce]
