The interlocking tower at Ironville, Ohio on the east side of Toledo.  This is the crossing of the Toledo Terminal (now CSX) and the former Wheeling and Lake Erie (now NS).  Photographer Charlie Whipp contributed this photo, which was taken April, 1997.  The photo below is from July, 1988, with an Grand Trunk freight train proceeding north over the diamond on the Toledo Terminal Railroad.  [Charlie Whipp]

Above, a 2002 photograph of the tower.  [Dale Berry]  Below, the same taken in 2004 after the tower closed.  The interlocking is now controlled by dispatchers through the aluminum equipment box next to the tower. [Nathan Nietering]
