North Boulevard Yard in northern Toledo, Ohio was built in the 1920's to sort and classify cars heading north into Michigan. It supplemented MC's North Toledo Yard (south of the AA Ottawa Yard), and MC yard facilities on the southwest side of town which served the Clover Leaf and Wabash.
North Boulevard Yard actually straddled the Ohio-Michigan line, with approximately 1/3 of the yard being located in Michigan's Monroe County. Even though the MCRR was controlled by the New York Central by the 1920's, the construction of this yard shows the independence of the MC's operations well into the 20th century.
