Swan Creek interlocking tower, taken in 1972 by Harvey Soule.  The photo below is of operator Gilbert Soule, who was Harvey's brother, working at his desk.  Swan Creek Tower was the junction of the New York Central (LSMS) New York to Chicago Main Line and the NYC's branch to the Old Road and to Detroit.  It was converted to CTC sometime after these photos were taken.  [Lee Soule Collection]

(Above)  Two Penn Central switch engines, operating in multiple mode, pull a string of cars eastbound, out of Airline Yard past Swan Creek Tower.  (Below) A Penn Central GP-7 pulls out onto the Airline Main Line, headed for downtown.  The photos were taken by Harvey Soule from the tower itself.    [Both photos: Lee Soule Collection]

Swan Creek Interlocking was at the junction of the New York Central Toledo to Elkhart Main line and the Old Road branch through Michigan.  The junction was also the east entrance to Airline Yard.
