Above, a view of the DSS&A depot at Champion in the late 1950's or early 1960's.  [Alan Loftis collection].  Below another view in 1973.  This depot also served the Milwaukee Road and its passenger trains which used the South Shore for a time to reach Calumet. [Greg Bunce]

Two 2003 views of the Milwaukee Road engine house in Champion, Michigan.  The MILW operated passenger trains from Chicago to Calumet, and interchanged with the Duluth, South Shore and Atlantic here at Champion.  Cars were also taken off the train for eastbound trains to Marquette.  The MILW used this roundhouse to store and service their locomotives.  [Greg Bunce photos]
