Carleton, Michigan in northeast Monroe County.  This is the crossing of the north and south CSX (Chessie System, above) and the east and west Indiana & Ohio (Detroit, Toledo & Ironton, above).  The tower still stands but is unoccupied, as of 2002.  [Above, Charlie Whipp photo].

Two different Union Depots depots at Carleton, one burning above in 1908, and the larger replacement depot below.  The station served the Pere Marquette and the DT&I.  [Both, Alan Loftis Collection]
