(Above)  Grand Trunk Western 4932, proceeds westbound over the diamond at Thornton Jct., Illinois in June, 1976.  GTW crossed the Mopac (later UP) at this location.  The tower was removed sometime after this photo.  Some of the parts from Michigan's Lapeer interlocker were used to repair this machine after Lapeer was removed.  [Charlie Whipp photo.]
