Above, an overhead, panoramic view of Grand Haven in 1868.  Note the passenger train leaving the town in the lower left portion of the drawing.  Hopefully, there was some way in 1868 for the residents of the town on the south side of the river, to reach the railroad on the north side.  Below, another view of Grand Haven in 1874.  The railroad is now on the south side of the river.
