the same depot. Marne was known as Berlin until the name was
changed in 1919 because town people were upset about German
involvement in World War I. Marne was selected after the
Battle of Marne during the war. [MPN] Notice the sign on the car
which says 'Car Following', suggesting that a second section of this
train is not far behind and that it carries the same timetable
rights as the first train. Steam railroads often used green
