Above, a 1983 photo of the
old Railroad YMCA near Mershon Tower in Saginaw. The tower is
in the background. The YMCA was used by Pere Marquette
railroad crews staying in the Saginaw area, and was particularly
popular when layover expenses were borne by the off-duty employee.
The GTW and Michigan Central, which also traversed by Mershon Tower,
probably did not use this building as their terminal was in Bay
