Donald Van Horn writes via OreRail that in the late 1960's, the Lake Superior & Ishpeming interchanged iron ore cars with the Manistique and Lake Superior, which hauled them to Manistique.  The cars were then put on an Ann Arbor Railroad railroad ferry and taken to Frankfort, for delivery to the Ford Rouge complex in Dearborn.

The photo above was taken in 1909 and was used on a postcard.  The three car Soo Line passenger train is heading eastbound towards Sault Ste. Marie.
