Above, the Michigan Central
Railroad depot at Bloomingdale in Van Buren County. This depot
is on the MC's line from Kalamazoo to South Haven. Below,
another photo of the depot from a distance, which provides a good
view of a cattle guard. Cattle guards were used in conjunction
with fences to stop cattle from entering areas of town, or the
