Above, a panoramic overhead view of Ypsilanti in 1868.  A Michigan Central passenger train is shown leaving town eastbound towards Detroit.  At this date, Ypsilanti is only served by the Michigan Central.  The Detroit, Hillsdale & Southwestern was built three years after this view was made.
