Above, a black and white photo of the Conrail Rouge drawbridge "Bridge" taken in 1988.  At this time, Amtrak ran a train once each day between Toledo and Detroit (which went on to Chicago).  [Charlie Whipp]  Below, a 2003 photo of the northbound approach to the bridge.  [Dale Berry]

Notes:

  • 1935:  This tower controlled the drawbridge, the connection between the NB and SB tracks, and the entrance to the south end of Delta Yard (coming off NB main - see photo above).  [MC Detroit Terminal Timetable No. 76]

  • 1935:  This tower communicated on Grade Line No. 5 (4 short).  Also on this grade line were River Rouge Depot Yardmaster (2 long), Delray (3 short), Jefferson Avenue (1 long, 2 short), West Detroit (2 short), YD Tower (also known as Pleasant Avenue Tower 1 long, 1 short).  [MC Detroit Terminal Timetable No. 76]
