Grand Trunk Western's West Detroit Yard was located on their line from Milwaukee Jct. to Delray, just north of the Michigan Central main line. This was an interchange yard for the GTW, Pere Marquette (via their West Detroit line), the Wabash, the DT&I, the D&TSL, the NYC, the Pennsylvania and the Union Belt. There was a freight house and team track at the yard. For all of the interchange done at this location, it was not a large yard compared to others in the Detroit terminal. |
