Spurred by the depression, the
C&NW and the Milwaukee Road create an ore pool agreement which
allows the two roads to consolidate operations on the Menominee
Range. Both roads handle ore traffic together, with
equipment and manpower furnished in proportion to the amount of
ore handled by each company prior to the agreement. All
ore is now shipped out of the C&NW dock in Escanaba and the
Milwaukee docks are decommissioned. [LSIOR]
