In the 1940's, the GTW and New York Central combined operations from Meredith St. in East Saginaw, over the NYC bridge, to Bay City West Side.  Some of the GTW line remained near Mershon to serve industry.  The GTW Saginaw River Drawbridge in Saginaw was removed.
