Built/Acquired: 1952 - by the Christy Corporation of Sturgeon Bay, WI

Crossing: Lake Michigan - Ludington to Kewaunee, WI

End of Service: 1983 (rail service). Continued to transport vehicles and passengers.

Disposition: Converted to auto ferry use.

Length: 393 feet. Holds 34 rail cars.

Type: Reinfored hull for ice-breaking.

This was a raiload, passenger and vehicle ferry. It was named after the University of Wisconsin's athletic teams.

It is a twub if the SS Sparton. This vessel is registered as a historical site in Michigan and Wisconsin.
