Built (1943) → Kincheloe Air Force Base → Decommissioned (1977). Now an airport.

Military Use: Protect the Soo Locks, as well as a refueling base for aircraft headed for Alaska.


Now Chippewa County International Airport, as well as the Kinross Correctional Facility. Named for Iven Kincheloe, a test pilot from Michigan.

Received rail service from the Soo Line on their route from Sault Ste. Marie to Gladstone.
