Railroad: Mecosta Railroad Company, The

The Mecosta railroad was organized in 1883 and built their main line from the Muskegon River 9.5 miles to Horseshoe Lake, all in Mecosta County. This line had a number of logging branches. The railroad was short-lived and all lines were abandoned by 1888. [MRL]
