Consolidated: 1880 - the Toledo & Ann Arbor and the Toledo, Ann Arbor & North Eastern. Line acquired at incorporation Toledo to Ann Arbor. Opened north to South Lyon in 1881.

Sold: 1882 - part to Michigan Air Line Railway.

Merged: 1884 - into Toledo, Ann Arbor & North Michigan.

Notes

This was the second name of what would later become the Ann Arbor railroad. This corporation extended the line from Ann Arbor across the Huron River valley and then to South Lyon. It was later cut back, and aimed towards Whitmore Lake and Hamburg. The line to South Lyon was removed in 1891. [MRL]


Time Line

1881. M.D. Woodford, General Superintendent of the Fort Wayne & Jackson was in Detroit yesterday and confirms the report published in the Free Press that he had been appointed general Superintendent of the Toledo, Ann Arbor & Grand Trunk railway. He says that his appointment will no way interfere with his position on the FW road, as he shall hold both places. [DFP-1881-1130]
