Station: Wyman, MI
Wyman was settled about 1879 as Averyville but renamed in 1880. This was originally a lumber town. [MPN] Wyman was located along the Isabella/Montcalm county border on a Pere Marquette branch line, specifically four miles north of Edmore.
In 1920, resident Alfred Hanson filed a request with the Michigan Public Utilities Commission asking them to order that the Pere Marquette railroad to erect a new depot and install an agent here. The MPSC denied the petition but ordered the PM to cause the present station building to be "made warm and sanitary", that a suitable person be engaged to attend to building of fires, and to attend to the sanitary measures necessary around said station.
