Interlocking: Saginaw, MI - Hoyt Tower, MI

Hoyt Tower Hoyt Interlocking Tower was located at the crossing of the Flint & Pere Marquette main line (later PM/C&O/CSX) which ran between Flint and East Saginaw, and a connecting branch built by the Detroit & Bay City railroad (later MC/NYC/PC) which ran between Denmark Junction and East Saginaw.

Notes

Hoyt tower/crossing was likely named after Jesse Hoyt, a Director of the Flint & Pere Marquette, who was also an invester in Saginaw lumber mill and salt manufacturing.  [MCR-1872]


Time Line

1912. The railroad commission approves for use the full interlocking and derailing switch and signal system at this location. [MCR-1912]
